Most People Don’t Know This Swimming Hole In Utah Even Exists

If you've lived in Utah your entire life like I have, you might think you pretty much know about every attraction in the Beehive State. I recently stumbled upon this little gem, and was shocked that I'd never heard of it. This swimming hole is located in the middle of nowhere, and I'm willing to bet that most of you don't know about it either. You've got to check this out!

The little town of Veyo is far off the beaten path, but it's only about 20 miles northwest of St. George.

Head to 2887 Veyo Resort Road to find Veyo Pool Resort, which is located in a little canyon that's typically 12-15 degrees cooler than St. George.

The resort offers a warm-spring swimming pool, crawdad catching, rock climbing, camping and restaurant. The resort is open seven days a week, from noon to 8:00 PM, April 1 to October 31.

The spring-fed pool was built in the 1920s, but it's recently been renovated.

This pool, surrounded by shady trees and basalt rock cliffs, is the perfect place to spend the day with loved ones.

While you're there, you definitely need to check out the crawdads.

Grab a bucket and some sticks or nets and head into Crawdad Canyon, where you'll find dozens (sometimes hundreds) of crawdads. You can use little bits of hot dog for bait, then scoop, 'em right up.

Rock climbing is popular in this canyon.

You'll find more than 250 bolted climbing routes here, ranging from 5.6 to 5.13 in difficulty. Climb up to 80 feet on these solid, basalt walls.

Grab a snack or lunch at the snack bar.

You can get hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and a variety of snack items. You can also reserve your own picnic area.

Not ready to leave yet? No worries - you can camp overnight in this pretty canyon.

Sites include a picnic table, and you can get a fire pit (mandatory for all fires) for just $5. The sites are $30 for a river site; $25 for a basic site. Campsites fill up fast - click here to reserve yours in advance.

To enjoy this pretty little resort, there's one very important thing to note: ALL guests at the resort must sign a waiver before entering.

To enter the resort, you'll purchase a Canyon Access Pass: $8.50/14-adult; $6.50/kids under 14. Rock climbing costs an additional $8.50/person.
