Pennsylvania’s Red Caboose Motel Is A Retro Adventure Just Waiting To Happen
The Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant in Ronks offers a unique stay in authentic, themed cabooses with family-friendly activities and nearby attractions.
Life in the 21st century is, we can probably all agree, anything but predictable and boring. However, do you ever yearn for the good old days? Those days when diners sat on most corners in town and where Friday nights meant watching a double feature at the drive-in. Reclaim a little bit of that magic of yesteryear when you check into Pennsylvania's Red Caboose Motel.
For more than five decades, visitors have been checking into the authentic cabooses at The Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant in Ronks.
However, quite a bit has changed since 1970. In the beginning, the motel featured only 19 red cabooses.
Today, the motel boasts a selection of 38 cabooses with themes ranging from the mail car to the baggage car. Each is painted in one of several vibrant colors.
Regardless of which caboose you book, you're sure to feel as though you've journeyed back in time. Cabooses are available in a variety of sizes - from cozy enough for a couple to large enough for a family.
Whichever you choose, you'll likely have little difficulty looking outside and imagining the train chugging along the rolling hills of PA.
The Red Caboose Motel also features a full list of family-friendly activities. Stop by the Train Barn for a free movie night each evening, and...
Get to know some of the residents - a goat, an alpaca, and a potbelly pig - at the petting zoo. Ride the Red Caboose Express, a trackless train, for a small fee, too.
When you're hungry, you can't go wrong with a meal at Casey Jones' Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
The Red Caboose Motel is within easy driving distance of a variety of attractions, including Strasburg Railroad and Cherry Crest Adventure Farm.
