The History Behind This Hotel In Pennsylvania Is Both Eerie And Fascinating
The Logan Inn in New Hope, Pennsylvania, is a historic and haunted hotel with a rich history dating back to 1722.
With Pennsylvania’s rich history come quite a few tales of the paranormal. That’s not surprising, though, since the two usually go hand-in-hand. We never really have to travel far to find an eerie tale of the otherworld, and this haunted hotel in Pennsylvania is proof of that. Even if you don’t believe in the paranormal, you’ll quickly discover this enchanting hotel is perfect for a getaway.
The story of The Logan Inn in New Hope begins in 1722, when it first opened its doors as a tavern, feeding hungry locals and travelers and eventually becoming an inn just five years later.
Tales of the paranormal at The Logan Inn, which now serves as a hotel and a restaurant, date back to the American Revolution. It is said that the bodies of soldiers killed during the war were kept in the inn’s basement until burial.
Some of the spirits of those soldiers, long since properly buried, are said to remain within the inn’s walls. Their apparitions have been seen throughout all 16 of the inn’s original rooms and marching down hallways.
However, the soldiers aren’t the only souls that still remain at this charming inn. A colonial visitor has also been seen. His footsteps are often heard as he trudges up and down the stairs.
If you’re lucky enough to stay in Room 6, you might just run into the spirit of Emily, after whom the room is named. She is said to be the mom of one of the inn’s previous owners.
Emily spends much of her time in Room 6, if you believe the tales, and interacts with guests. You might feel a touch on your arm, feel your pillow whipped from beneath your head as you sleep, or wake up to your belongings in places you didn’t leave them.
Countless souls are said to remain at The Logan Inn. Don’t be too frightened if you look in the mirror and see a man’s reflection looking back next to you. He’ll disappear when you turn around.
Some guests also tell of seeing a little girl playing in the parking lot. Many believe she is the spirit of a girl who drowned nearby.
