Once Upon A Time, The Florentine Restaurant Was A Prominent Ohio Hotel That First Opened In 1814

The Florentine Restaurant in Germantown, Ohio is a historic eatery that was once a famous hotel, which first opened in 1814. Today, it's beautifully restored and home to an exceptional menu. From the atmosphere to the food, it's a timeless place to dine.

What was once a much welcomed site to travelers passing through the area is now a piece of living history Ohio history buffs (and foodies) will fall in love with.

You'll find it along W Market Street in historic Germantown, Ohio.

First opened in 1814 - 1816 by Philip Gunckel, the founder of Germantown, The Florentine Hotel has welcomed visitors by stage coach, horseback, covered wagons—and eventually the automobile—throughout the decades.

Fun fact: The Florentine Restaurant is the second oldest inn in Ohio.

Today, much of the old world charm is preserved. Take some time to examine the detail in the woodwork, the beautiful staircase and the historic photographs hung on the walls.

You can visit The Florentine Restaurant on Wednesday - Thursday from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., on Friday - Saturday from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.

On the menu, you'll find some exceptional American steakhouse cuisine. Pictured is the Smoked French Cut Pork Loin.

Please note: The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Pro tip: Get the Jalapeño Poppers. They're bacon-wrapped appetizers straight from heaven.
