This North Carolina Airbnb Has the Most Underrated Fishing Spot

Complete with a game room, a hot tub, and a private fishing pond, this North Carolina Airbnb is perfect for a relaxing mountain getaway.

Alright, anglers. I must admit that we’ve done you a disservice in all our years of providing you with the best travel tips in North Carolina. We often showcase the best lakes and rivers for waterfront hikes and maybe even some paddle trails, but this one is for you. This North Carolina Airbnb is the perfect home base for exploring the sights of Allegheny County, and it even has a private pond so you can do a little fishing. Let’s check it out:

Castaway Lodge is an Airbnb in Ennice, North Carolina, located near the North Carolina/Virginia border. It’s an ideal location to call home while you explore the area. It’s only a 10-minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Cumberland Knob (which has some of the best hiking in North Carolina).

Sitting pretty on six private acres, you’ll feel like you’re in your own little secluded world at this fabulous 3,000-square-foot cabin. The vaulted ceilings really make this cabin feel extra spacious, and those large windows flood the rooms with plenty of daylight.

The two-bedroom, three-bathroom cabin has five beds and can accommodate up to eight guests, so bring the whole squad…even the dog! The pet-friendly Airbnb in North Carolina allows up to two dogs for a small fee.

The primary bedroom is on the main level with balcony access, and the upper loft houses a queen-sized bed plus a set of bunk beds, and there’s another bedroom up there, too.

This vacation rental is overflowing with amenities. The lower level houses a massive game room complete with a pool table, old-school arcade games, a dart board, a foosball table, and more. I can’t tell you how much of my childhood was spent at a roller rink playing that Simpsons arcade game. I would lose so much sleep here, just trying to relive my glory gaming days from [redacted] years ago.

This level also has a separate seating area, a washer/dryer, and a separate bathroom.

Outside, guests have access to a fire pit, a huge patio with a gas grill, al fresco dining, and your very own stocked pond. It’s catch and release, so you won’t be able to catch yourself dinner, but you can still drop a line or two and take in the beautiful views.

After a day of sightseeing and fishing, kick back and relax in the hot tub. Even in the spring and summer, North Carolina nights can be a bit chilly! There’s also a fire pit with plenty of seating—one of my favorite things to do on vacation. Stick around until dark and do a little stargazing!

Could you see yourself here? I sure could! Visit the Airbnb listing of this North Carolina Airbnb to scroll through even more photos and book your mountain getaway today.
