This Little Known Resort In North Carolina Is The Perfect Place To Get Away From It All

In North Carolina, Lake Lure is synonymous with one thing: Dirty Dancing. While we (of course) think of sweeping mountain views and pristine water (perfect for a day of boating) we still go back to that iconic scene of Johnny lifting Baby out of the water. It's true, Lake Lure is just as romantic as it is beautiful.

If you really want to get away from it all at Lake Lure, Rumbling Bald Resort is 3,000+ acres of everything you could possibly need for a relaxing yet fun weekend.

The whole resort overlooks the stunning cliff of Rumbling Bald Mountain. It's home to one of the best golf courses in North Carolina, fine dining, and the perfect accomodations for each type of vacationer.

There are quaint cabins with sweeping decks overlooking the water, bungalows for two, condos, studios and even a motorcoach option. The lodging is tailored to each type of vacationer.

While a night of grilling or a home cooked meal is crucial for a long vacation, the resort also offers dining options. You can go semi-upscale with Lakeview Restaurant or low-key at Legends Pub and Pizzeria.

Besides relaxing and soaking up the sun, there's plenty to do. Like two championship golf-courses, a spa, tennis course, and of course water activities.

Not too far away, you'll find the impressively beautiful Chimney Rock. This granite monolith offers incredible views and a great workout - 449 steps to be exact! Dirty Dancing Festival coming to Lake Lure August 19th-20th, you won't want to miss out on two days of food, music, dancing and fun.
