This Open Air Treehouse Is One Of The Most Unique Places In North Carolina

Honeysuckle Tea House offers a unique, sustainable, and serene experience with homegrown teas and a bamboo hammock garden near Chapel Hill.

Does getting a million miles away from it all sound like a perfect way to unwind? If you're nodding your head, then we've discovered a place like no other in North Carolina. It's private, in the middle of nowhere - yet close to a big city - and a better hideaway than you can ever imagine in the Tar Heel State.

Take a look at Honeysuckle Tea House. It's located on 17 acres of quiet, peaceful wilderness — and just outside of Chapel Hill.

Built on top of salvaged shipping containers and with repurposed materials, this business promotes sustainability. In fact, they serve a wide variety of homegrown teas from the raised garden beds that surround the tea house.

You can sit inside and just breathe in the fresh air while you sip on one of the teas from their extensive menu. They also have sweet treats to pair with your tea (and beer and wine).

Honeysuckle also boasts the only bamboo hammock garden in North Carolina. We won't show it to you here because we need to leave something to your imagination. But trust us: it's unusual — and fantastic!

You'll also find a playground for kids (of all ages), plenty of shade opportunities, both inside and out, and a mandala garden. This one-of-a-kind tea house feels a little like being in another country, without having to pull out your passport or be bothered by airports.

Honeysuckle Tea House is open SEASONALLY. The good news? They reopen for the season in March!

Put this one on your bucket list for springtime. You can keep up with their opening date by following their Facebook page.

Honeysuckle Tea House is located at 8871 Pickards Meadow Rd., Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
