This North Carolina Airbnb Looks Like It Belongs in a Norwegian Fjord

Perched on 12 secluded acres, this beautiful cabin in North Carolina overlooks Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and feels like you’re staying on the edge of a Norwegian Fjord.

The first time I visited Norway, I fell in love with the landscape. It’s hard not to, really. People travel from all over the world to experience Norway’s stunning coast and its iconic fjords. If chasing fjords isn’t in the budget, don’t worry, I’ve found an incredible dupe that won’t require your passport. Today, we’re checking out a North Carolina Airbnb that looks like it belongs in a Norwegian fjord.

Welcome to Eagle’s Landing, an unforgettable Airbnb in Bryson City that offers some of the best views of Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It's named after the local eagles that are known to fly through the area, so you might just get to see a feathered friend or two during your stay.

The Best Features of This North Carolina Airbnb

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin offers 1,345 square feet of space to enjoy, including a partially covered deck with a hot tub. There’s a lot to love about this charming cabin in North Carolina, and the views are at the top of the list.

Guests can soak in those dreamy bird’s eye views from just about every room in the cabin! From the one-of-a-kind artwork to the cabin's design, everything has been thoughtfully designed to ensure you really get that mountaintop escape you're after.

The deck is my favorite spot. Perched high above the mountains, it truly does feel like you've been swept away into a Norwegian Fjord. Just look at those views! Imagine your morning coffee here, watching the sunrise. Plus, after a day of exploring the National Park, come back to the deck to do a little stargazing. The stargazing here is phenomenal!

This Airbnb is fragrance-free. No air fresheners, plug-ins, scented candles, chemical cleaners, or toxic fragrances are used here, including in the linens. For folks with sensitivities or allergies, this is a welcome sight to see in an Airbnb!

Nearby Attractions to Explore While Staying Here

I wouldn’t blame you if you never left the cabin, but its location is one of the main reasons this place is so popular! This Airbnb is only a 40-minute drive from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As one of the most visited national parks in the country, this is one adventure you’ll want to do a little planning beforehand so you can escape the crowds. While it’s a beautiful spot year-round, Great Smoky Mountains National Park really shines in the spring.

Take advantage of the incredible hiking trails here. Rainbow Falls is one of our favorites, but there are so many hiking trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that it would take a lifetime to explore them all. AllTrails is a good place to start mapping out your hikes.

Bryson City is worth a day, too. This charming city in North Carolina is known as the gateway to the Smokies, and you’ll find plenty of things to do in Bryson City. Some of our favorites include the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad and also more adrenaline-inducing experiences like the zipline adventure.
