With Only 22 Campsites, Jenny Jump Campground In New Jersey Offers A Remote Forest Escape

New Jersey may be the most densely populated state, but that doesn't mean there aren't lovely places to really get away from the crowds and busy cities and suburbs. One of Garden State's most isolated places is the most remote New Jersey campground in the heart of Jenny Jump State Forest.

Jenny Jump State Forest is a park that's located along a mountain and ridgeline in Warren County, New Jersey.

The forest itself consists of nearly 4,500 acres, and the ridgeline trails show off views that stretch for miles. You can even see the Delaware Water Gap from the 1,112-foot summit.

The park and forest also preserve the land around several different ponds, and is one of the state's least-visited forests.

There are just 22 tent sites on the mountain within the campground, and each one is decently isolated from the next.

There are a couple of group campgrounds and small shelter-style cabins that campers can rent, too, but even those feel miles away from the crowded towns that are typical of the Garden State.

In fact, the closest "big town" is Hackettstown, about half an hour away from the campground.
