Summer is almost here and if you're anything like us you've been dreaming of the days that we can sit back with friends and family enjoying the fresh air together. Regardless of when that might happen, we're making a list of all the ways we plan on enjoying life this spring and summer. You better believe that a stay at these cottages is at the very top!
Welcome to Gilcrest Cottages & Motel in Thornton! Located on the banks of one of New Hampshire's most beautiful rivers, there's oh-so much to love about this quaint little spot!
The location, in the heart of the White Mountains, means access to some of the best outdoor adventures you can have. From boating, to swimming to hiking.
And unlike many cabins, cottages and bed and breakfasts, Gilcrest is open all year. That means you can enjoy the area when it's at its most beautiful. Whenever that is for you.
The cottages themselves come in one-room or two-bedroom options. The smaller ones are great for couples who want to get away.
And the larger ones make the perfect base for a family looking to explore while also spending time together.
While Gilcrest refers to these cottages as "retro," you'll find them to be a perfect mix of old-school charm and contemporary design.
Even the one-room cottages are spacious enough to spread out. Have a large group? The motel has connecting rooms which will fit you all!
You'll look forward to returning to your little home after a day exploring the area.
Or, if you choose to stick around the property you'll find yourself busy as a beaver. Swimming, playing on the playground or just enjoying a good book.
Visit in the summer to bask in the outdoors or plan now for an autumn visit to take in the fall foliage in a way that only the White Mountains of New Hampshire can provide!
Gilcrest Cottages & Motel typically opens in mid-May and remains open through Columbus Day. The motel and specific cottages are open for visitors outside of that time frame, too. You can learn more by visiting their website or check them out on Facebook. You can reach them on 603-726-3330.
