Do your summer plans include watching live music, spending days on the river, and lazing away the hours in a pool with a drink in your hand? If so, you're looking for The Cottonwood Cove Marina & RV Resort. It's got plenty to love, but our favorite part is definitely the 21+ pool with its very own swim-up bar. Cottonwood Campground in Nebraska is a fast-growing destination, and it's especially friendly to those traveling with their own or rented RV.
Nonstop summertime fun awaits in Blair, a small community about 30 minutes from Omaha or an hour from Lincoln. The Cottonwood Cove Marina & RV Resort sits right on the Missouri River, so feel free to arrive by boat and pull into one of the guest slips.
No matter how you get there, you're going to love the fun, beachy vibe of this unique destination. The Cottonwood Cove Lodge & Outdoor Patio is the on-site restaurant serving casual fare like burgers, wraps, and flatbread pizzas.
The large dining room holds plenty of patrons, and the outdoor patio seating can accommodate even more. Seven glass roll-up doors can make it feel like you're outdoors even when you're enjoying the cool shade inside.
The menu has something of a cult following, with taco night being hailed as the best time to drop in for a meal. But don't get too full - you wouldn't want to get a cramp when you go outside to enjoy the rest of the Cottonwood Cove experience!
The outdoor pool is an excellent way to enjoy the weather while staying cool and comfortable with a cocktail in hand. Don't worry - this pool is only for ages 21 and up, so you won't have to worry about rowdy kids splashing and making a scene.
We can't promise the adults won't do those things, however...
The pool features one of Nebraska's only swim-up bars. While you're lounging in the pool, take a little swim over to the bar to order a refreshing beverage.
You'll have beer and spirits to choose from, but may we recommend the Watermelon (Cottonwood Cove's signature drink) or a River Water? Both are delicious - just make sure you have a designated driver because these drinks are strong.
If any of the underwater bar stools are available, you can have a seat with some friends and enjoy chilling in the sun. If not, though, the rest of the pool is just as fun - glide around in the water, float a little bit, and even make some new friends as you all enjoy the cool water.
The RV Resort is located next to the restaurant, bar, and pool. The lots are rented by the season, so when you pull your RV into one of these spots you can plan on enjoying it all summer long. It becomes a friendly little neighborhood where you know all of your neighbors.
Each lot includes a power pedestal with 30 and 50-amp service, city water and sewer, and free WiFi.
If you're looking forward to bringing your boat along for some fun on the river, you can also rent a boat slip for the season. The 12-acre marina features covered docks with 8-foot-wide walkways, power, WiFi, and city water at each slip.
The Cottonwood Cove Lodge & Outdoor Patio is also a live music venue where you can catch local, regional, and national acts all summer. Tribute bands are pretty big here, so get ready to enjoy some familiar beats. There are also DJ sets and other special events - there's never a dull moment here!
Cottonwood Cove has also added some new villas for 2023, so check out this look at the top-of-the-line accommodations, straight from the resort!
While Cottonwood Cove Marina & RV Resort is technically all-ages (other than the 21+ pool, of course), we'd recommend leaving the kids at home if you're staying for more than just a meal. The atmosphere is definitely adult-oriented. You can find out more about this one-of-a-kind Missouri River destination - including how to rent your own RV lot or boat slip - on the Cottonwood Cove Marina & RV Resort's website, and stay up-to-date on events and other news on its Facebook page.
