It's nearly impossible for me to choose a favorite season in Montana, but if pressed I would have to say spring. Winter brings a ton of fun and unique outdoor adventures. And, of course, summer is incredible. But there's something about the excitement that comes with those first few warmer days that makes spring here something special. In addition to getting outside in a variety of ways, we love the idea of exploring spots that are new to us just as they're coming back to life. It's easy to enjoy our own corner of Montana, but seeing the parts we're less familiar with is a priority for us this year. And, to help us make these adventures even more unique, we've been looking for some of the best spring vacation rentals in Montana. Here are some options we love!
1. Modern Lakefront Cabin, Anaconda
Located directly on Georgetown Lake, this
" target="_blank">newly constructed modern cabin offers lakefront views and a private dock. This is a perfect spot to take in the change of seasons as trees get greener and wildlife makes more of an appearance. The cabin sleeps 13 guests in four bedrooms and has four bathrooms. While the inside is incredibly well done, there's a good chance you'll want to spend most of your time outside enjoying the charming town named after a snake.
2. The River Island House, Nye
When Spring arrives in Montana there's no better place to be than by the water. A rushing river gives away the arrival of my favorite season when it builds up speed as snow melts in the mountains. One of the best vacation rentals in the state is situated right on the banks of Stillwater River. The beautiful cabin sleeps 10 people in four bedrooms with 2.5 baths. And, with two stories there's plenty of room for everyone.
3. The Highlander, Choteau
This A-frame-style tiny home sits just outside Choteau. Your days here will have a small-town feel, while also offering access to anything you might need for a fun trip to Montana. The home sleeps up to four people with one bedroom and one full bathroom. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to enjoy your own home-cooked meals. My favorite part? The possibility of watching the sunset over the Rockies while enjoying the fire pit or year-round hot tub.
4. Wild +Wander Luxury Yurt, Bozeman
For those in search of a truly unique experience, this luxury yurt outside of Bozeman is the perfect option. With five acres of panoramic views, this is a good option for anyone who wants to remember just how incredible it is to simply sit outside in Montana. The yurt offers a full kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom, a hot tub, and a stove. This would make a wonderful Bozeman spring couples retreat.
5. Rocky Mountain Ranch, Lewis and Clark County
If the idea of over 30 acres of Rocky Mountain views and endless miles of hiking trails sounds like the perfect getaway, we've got a great spot for you. This Montana ranch sleeps seven people in four bedrooms and has three bathrooms. That makes this a great spring vacation rental in Montana for friend groups or large families. The property is right next to BLM land allowing visitors to hike the Continental Divide Trail. Best of all, the incredible views can be seen from just about any window.
6. Off Grid Stays Treehouse Retreat, Columbia Falls
Those from Montana are well aware that springtime doesn't always mean warm temperatures and green trees. The first few weeks are typically covered in snow. But, there's no better place to watch the world go from snow-covered to budding trees than this off-grid treehouse in Columbia Falls. The home sleeps four people in two bedrooms with one full bathroom and comes with the most incredible views from just about every room. Call this little spot home for a long weekend and you'll have the chance to unwind, get ready for spring, and enjoy some time outdoors. Be sure to check out The Montana Vortex & House of Mystery while you're nearby!
7. The Cabin at the Hagerman Ranch, Greycliff
Sitting on a family-owned and operated cattle ranch, this adorable cabinis the perfectspring vacation rental in Montana for those who want to spend as much time as possible surrounded by nature. If fishing is your thing, a week here is a must. The Yellowstone River is less than 100 feet from the cabin. Wildlife viewing can't be beat...except by the incredible sunset.
