This Secluded Montana Cabin Is the Coziest Winter Escape

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe that winter is the best time to explore Montana. Not only are there tons of things to do during the winter in Montana, but it is easy to find solitude as the crowds are low and the snowy weather transforms the Treasure State’s landscape into a truly mesmerizing scene. Whether you plan to travel across the state for a multi-day adventure or you are looking for a staycation where you can just relax, we’ve found the perfect place.

This Glacier Treehouse Retreat is a cabin Airbnb in West Glacier where you can enjoy snowy days and starry nights during the colder months of the year. It’s one dreamy getaway destination. West Glacier is a small community in Flathead County, a few miles southwest of Glacier National Park and near Whitefish Mountain Resort. It’s an area that’s filled with natural beauty, locally-owned businesses, and Treetops Glacier, a treehouse resort where you’ll find this fantastic A-frame cabin.

This isn’t a large vacation rental, and it’s quite minimalistic — you won’t find dozens of fancy amenities here. But it’s the perfect place to spend chilly winter days. As you walk inside, you’ll immediately notice the open floor plan. This is a studio cabin with one bed and one bathroom. It is best for a solo adventure or even a romantic getaway with your partner.

This cabin also features a small kitchen area where you can prepare all of your meals. In the bathroom, you’ll find a large soaking tub with incredible views of the winter wonderland outdoors. And speaking of the views … they are breathless. This cabin Airbnb is tucked away on 40 private acres filled with pine trees, meadows, and mountain scenery. You can enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you from the massive windows in the cabin or step outside on the porch and just soak it all in. This is also an ideal place to bundle up at night and stargaze. It’s pure joy.

And if you want to elevate your stay even more, bring a swimsuit and relax in the outdoor hot tub, where you’ll enjoy wooded mountain views. You’ll never want to leave. But, if you love a little adventure, you can also hit the slopes at nearby Whitefish Mountain Resort or head into Glacier National Park. I also recommend you spend some time in Kalispell, one of my favorite small cities in Montana, or Flathead Lake.
