As if camping isn’t a great activity on its own, add a waterpark to the mix and you’ve got one incredibly fun combination. Luckily, a place like this actually exists. Even better, it’s right here in Mississippi. Take a look:
Buccaneer State Park is located in Waveland, near the Gulf of Mexico.
Time and again, it’s been ranked one of the best campgrounds in Mississippi. And that probably has something to do with its bevy of amenities, which includes a waterpark.
Fun for all ages, the 4.5-acre waterpark features three pools, two waterslides, a splash pad, sun deck, and restaurant.
Aside from a standard pool and a kiddie pool, there’s also a wave pool, which can generate up to eight different wave patterns. Grab an inner tube and get ready to ride waves up to 6’ high!
Or, climb the 40’ tower and choose between an open or completely enclosed waterslide.
No matter which you select, you’ll be treated to a thrilling, high-speed adventure that ends with a dip in the cool, refreshing water below.
A great way to spend the day, the waterpark is open daily throughout the summer season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
One of the best parts about the park is the fact that it includes a campground, so you don’t have to head all the way home after a day of fun in the sun.
Buccaneer State Park has 206 RV campsites with full amenities, including sewer, wi-fi, and close-up views of the Gulf of Mexico.
Don’t have an RV or maybe you’d just rather pitch a tent? No problem; there’s also a primitive campground, which is situated on a grassy field overlooking the Gulf.
Visit Buccaneer State Park at 1150 S. Beach, Blvd., Waveland, MS 39576. For more information, call (228) 467-3822 or head on over to the park’s website.
