Summers in Mississippi can be pretty brutal. Luckily, we found a great spot for you to beat the heat – and it’s called Pep’s Point in Hattiesburg Mississippi. With a beach and slides, the lakeside park just might be the best natural water park in Mississippi. Take a look:
Pep's Point in Mississippi is a "laid back country water park" that’s been around since 1939.
Probably the best family outing in Mississippi, the lakeside water park has a white sand beach, canoes and paddle boats, a pavilion, picnic tables, volleyball nets, miniature golf and water slides that flow directly into lake.
Even better, it’s a spring-fed lake, so the water is nice and cold – no matter how hot it is outside.
Pep’s Point is open seasonally from May – September. Once the season begins, the water park is open daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Though the park usually opens in early May, the opening date changes each season, so it’s best to visit the park’s Facebook page prior to your visit.
Pep’s Point is the kind of place you could easily spend all day – so be sure to bring things you’ll need, like towels, food, and chairs.
When it comes to admission, there are two options. Pay $8 and you can spend the day splashing around in the lake and relaxing on the white sand beach that surrounds it.
For $15, you can buy the "all activities" pass. Just as the name implies, the pass gets you access to everything Pep’s Point has to offer - water slides, mini golf, paddle boards, canoes, volley ball, and a game room.
