Forget about pitching a tent. At the most unique campsite in Mississippi, you don’t need a tent, and that’s because it’s got a yurt! But not just any yurt. This yurt is spacious and stocked with everything from books and games to an antique piano. It’s pure magic!

Yurts (which are round, tent-like abodes) have become pretty popular in recent years. And the trend has made its way to Mississippi!

One of the state’s only yurts can be found in Lumberton, on a 111-acre piece of property known as The Burrow.

The 30-foot yurt is perfect for large groups. With movable seating and bedding options, it can accommodate up to 14 guests!

Futon-style mattresses, cots, and other bedding options are available. There’s also a mountainous mound of pillows to help you get cozy.

You’ll be afforded all the benefits of sleeping indoors…

...along with a few of the perks of sleeping outdoors, thanks to a skylight, which provides a great view of the twinkling stars overhead.

And when you’re not sleeping, you’ll find plenty of ways to stay entertained.

In addition to an altar, the yurt features a library that’s stocked with books and games.

There's also an antique piano and a few other musical instruments on-hand for guests to use.

The yurt doesn't have plumbing or a kitchen. Don't worry, though. There's a "luxury outhouse" nearby and a fire pit - complete with a cooking grate - just outside the yurt.

Remember to bring cooking supplies, utensils, a cooler, etc.

It’s preferred that all food prep and consumption take place outside the yurt, which is no problem since there’s a large picnic table with plenty of seating.

No matter the time of year you visit, you can enjoy some outdoor fun. In the cooler months, you can hike along the nearby trails, and in the warmer months, go for a dip in the swimming pond.
