This Lakefront Rental Is Near Two State Parks

This lakefront vacation rental in Mississippi is the perfect home base while you explore these state parks.

I know this is the time of year when everyone flocks down to the Gulf to soak up some sun, but hear me out. I would much prefer to kick back and relax in a lakefront vacation rental in northern Mississippi. This particular rental puts you smack dab in the middle of two of my favorite state parks in Mississippi, and it’s an ideal destination for nature lovers looking to get outside and hit the trails.

Iuka is a small city in Tishomingo County that’s home to fewer than 5,000 residents. The actual number hovers closer to 3,000 folks. It’s the perfect place to use as a home base while you explore Tishomingo State Park, JP Coleman State Park, and even Mississippi’s highest point—Woodall Mountain.

Bear Creek Lake House is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom lakefront Airbnb in Iuka that you’ll quickly fall in love with.

Nestled right on beautiful Pickwick Lake, this property offers guests a private dock with water access—perfect for splashing around in the summer!

My personal favorite part about this Airbnb is the hot tub. After a long day of hiking the trails at Tishomingo State Park, head back to soak and take in those dreamy views. I’m a sucker for a starry sky, and this looks like the ideal spot to do a little stargazing!

I love the open-concept living room with massive windows. You can’t catch a bad view here! Even on a rainy day, just having an unobstructed view of the lake is fantastic.

There are two bedrooms and a loft area that has another two twin beds. The rental can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests and as you can see, everyone will have plenty of space!

Now let’s talk about things to do in the area. Of course, you’ll want to visit both Tishomingo State Park and JP Coleman State Park. Since you’re so close, drive up to Woodall Mountain so you can check it off your list. You’re right on the Mississippi/Alabama state line, so you may even be inspired to cross over and check out the Alabama side of the Natchez Trace Parkway. For my true road warriors, head north and poke around Tennessee! Eagle Bow Falls is about an hour (maybe a little more) away, and that’s a fun little side quest.
