The Story Behind Minnesota’s Most Haunted House Will Give You Nightmares

Everyone knows that when it comes to hauntings in Minnesota, the Palmer House Hotel in Sauk Center takes the cake. This hotel has seen so much supernatural activity that it has been featured countless times in national media and television series. But what makes this particular haunting so compelling? And why has it sent some guests running in horror?

This house on the National Register of Historic Places was built on the site of the burned down Sauk Centre House, the town's first hotel. It was the first building in Sauk Center with electricity, and is a favorite spot for supernatural guests. It also made an appearance in Sinclair Lewis' novel "Main Street." It is a wonderful, quaint place to stay, and apparently those who have died on the premises (or off) agree, and take to moving around books and silverware, and turning lights on and off. Many guests have awoken to figures in their rooms.
