These 5 Cozy Cabins Are Perfect for a Fall Getaway in Minnesota
Any of these five cozy cabins would be perfect for a fall getaway in Minnesota. Book one to make the most of autumn in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: It doesn't get much better than fall in Minnesota. The weather's still decent, the mosquitoes are mostly gone, and we have several weeks' worth of fall colors to enjoy. This is why autumn is a fantastic time to get out and explore in the Bold North.
If you're ready for a fall getaway, you'll definitely want to take a look at these five cozy cabins. Any one of them would make a perfect base camp for autumn adventure in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
1. Cascade Lodge - Lutsen
When I head up to the North Shore, one of the first places I check for availability is Cascade Lodge. The property offers a gorgeous, wooded setting that abuts Cascade River State Park, with panoramic views of Lake Superior. In addition to lodge rooms, several cabins are available for rent on the property, including the ever-popular Cabin 11, which is known for its private bridge and waterfall. It doesn't get much cozier than sitting on a porch next to your own waterfall while enjoying vibrant fall foliage and gazing out toward the Big Lake. Or head a few minutes down the shore and brave the leaf-peeping crowds at Oberg or Lutsen Mountains.
2. Edgewater Escape - Perham
This cozy Airbnb cabin on Paul Lake near Perham makes a perfect place for an autumn adventure in north-central Minnesota. This two-bedroom, one-bath cabin can sleep up to eight people, who can spend the days on the deck or enjoying the lake while surrounded by blazing foliage and then circle up for a crackling bonfire under a starry night sky.
3. Strawberry Lake Cabin - Ogema
Folks looking for a fall getaway in western Minnesota will love this cabin on Strawberry Lake near Ogema. The property's two bedrooms and one bath can accommodate up to five guests who will love autumn tree bathing on the cabin's large deck. If you're looking for even more adventure, head a few miles south to the Detroit Lakes area and take in the fall foliage while you search for giant trolls hidden in the forests of the region.
4. Tettegouche Log Cabin - Silver Bay
If you're looking for a property where you can simply sit on the deck and enjoy the views that attract all the people to the North Shore at this time of year, the Tettegouche Log Cabin is your spot. This beautifully hand-scribed cabin features one bedroom and one bathroom, accommodating up to five guests. As its name implies, the cabin is immediately adjacent to Tettegouche State Park, and offers views out over pristine Northwoods forest to Lake Superior. You probably won't want to leave, though—I know I wouldn't.
5. Lakeside Getaway - Crosslake
If you're looking for a fall getaway in the Brainerd Lakes Area, this lakeside retreat in Crosslake ought to fill the bill. With three bedrooms and two baths, this Rock Lake property can accommodate up to 10 guests. Enjoy stargazing and the smell of autumn as you stay warm around the fire pit, and fill your days exploring the area trails or simply gazing out at the vibrant foliage reflecting on the lake.
As readers probably know, I love Minnesota, and fall is a wonderful time to get out and experience the Land of 10,000 Lakes. So, whether you're looking for a weekend getaway, an MEA escape, or a real vacation, you should definitely consider booking one of these five properties.
