A Trail Full Of Gorge Views By Lake Superior Will Lead You To A Waterfall Paradise In Minnesota

Cascade River State Park offers stunning North Shore scenery with a series of waterfalls and scenic trails.

Have you ever been to Cascade River State Park? This North Shore state park is wonderful, but it is often overshadowed by Gooseberry Falls, Tettegouche, and other popular parks in the area. But if you're looking for spectacular North Shore scenery, you may want to plan a trip to this state park. The park is centered on a series of waterfalls on the Cascade River. Follow a trail along a rocky gorge, and you'll soon come across this spectacular sight. It's a waterfall paradise, and it's not to be missed for North Shore nature lovers! Take a look:

Cascade River State Park is a Minnesota state park on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It's about 5 miles south of Grand Marais, or 100 miles north of Duluth.

There are many trails throughout the park that lead to some of the prettiest places on the North Shore. Follow the Lookout Mountain Loop to rise above the trees, or take the Lake Superior Shoreline Trail for stunning views of the lake.

All of the trails are great, but you can't miss following the Cascade River Lower Loop. This .5-mile loop trail is short and sweet, but it offers amazing views of the rocky gorge through which the Cascade River rushes. You'll have an up-close look at high cliffs that rise over the narrow stream of water.

The choppy waters make for an impressive sight...

...that only gets better when you get to the river's five small waterfalls. The river drops 120 feet on its journey to Lake Superior, creating a series of rushing cascades that are unlike anything else on the North Shore.

Eventually, the river reaches Lake Superior. The mouth of the river is also an impressive sight that you can see in Cascade River State Park.

If you're looking for an easy way to explore the rugged beauty of the North Shore, this trail is a must-do! You'll have a gorgeous view of the Cascade River as it tumbles through a rocky gorge towards Lake Superior. It's absolutely spectacular.
