Put This Oceanside Farm Campground In Maine On Your Spring Short List Immediately

It's finally that time of year in Maine! The air is getting warmer and the outdoor opportunities are seeming more and more accessible. The first thing on our minds is hiking, but the second thing is definitely camping! As we plan out our spring and summer camping schedule, this farm is high on the list. If you love Maine farms, the coast and sleeping in the great outdoors you might want to add it to yours!

About 12 miles off the coast of Maine, you'll find the small town of North Haven with about 350 year-round residents.

To reach the town, you'll take a one-hour ferry ride from Rockland.

The farm itself is dedicated to supporting the local community through good stewardship of the land and growing quality food for everyone to enjoy.

It's a wonderful place to visit, but we especially love the opportunity to sleep on the land in their canvas tent.

The saltwater farm is located directly on the water, making this experience feel particularly Maine - maximizing both the farming and the coastal side of life here.

The tent faces south, looking out over the water to views of Vinalhaven on a clear day.

The drive from the ferry terminal is short and once you've arrived it's just a short walk to the site.

Here, you'll find everything you need, including room for 2 people to sleep comfortably under the stars.

There's also a camp loo - so you won't be too far when nature calls.

There's also a sturdy eating area to enjoy true camp meals.

This is a great place to schedule some relaxation time. Sitting on the wooden deck in front of the tent while watching the ocean and land around you is wonderful.

They've also got a fire pit, wood stove to keep warm and a grill for cooking.

And, at night, the remoteness of the island makes things extra special.
