Sometimes, you just need to get away from it all and get back to the basics. When the urge to spend a night or two under the stars strikes, you can’t beat this one hidden lake and campground in Louisiana. Tucked away within the Alexander State Forest, Indian Creek Recreation Area is one of those hidden gems in Louisiana that once you see in person, you’ll want to keep all to yourself. And we wouldn’t blame you.

The Indian Creek Recreation Area is located in the tiny town of Woodworth, nestled away under the towering pines within the Alexander State Forest.

The recreation area hugs the beautiful Indian Creek Reservoir, a man-made reservoir that was created in the 1970s.

Indian Creek Recreation Area features 100 acres of recreational facilities and 250 acres of campsites, so you can rest assured you’ll have all the space you need to sprawl out.
