You’ll Never Want To Check Out Of The Most Colorful Bed & Breakfast In New Orleans
La Belle Esplanade is a vibrant and unique bed & breakfast in New Orleans, offering themed rooms and locally sourced breakfasts.
Sometimes you just stumble across a place that's so unique, so bold, you have to investigate. You've probably driven past these adorable houses several times, but have you ever been inside? Once you see how amazing La Belle Esplanade is, you'll never want to check out.
If you’ve ever driven down Esplanade, you’ve certainly seen these colorful houses.
Now a bed & breakfast, the three houses were built in 1883 by Julius Weiss, a cotton broker. They were meant to be a creole answer to the many mansions that lined St. Charles Avenue.
Throughout its years, these houses have been proper homes, apartment complexes, a bed& breakfast, then back to apartments. It’s been a journey!
Today, La Belle Esplanade is a charming bed & breakfast you’ll be recommending to all of your out-of-town friends.
La Belle Esplanade is owned and operated by Matthew King and Melanie Schmitt.
They moved to New Orleans in 2010 and purchased the bed & breakfast in 2012 and would love to have you as a guest.
From the moment you walk in, you’ll be overwhelmed with those vibrant colors that are so indicative of New Orleans.
It’s hard to be in a bad mood when you’re surrounded by such bold colors.
Each room has it’s own unique color scheme and overall theme.
One room will whisk you away to France, another room will give you a Greek goddess atmosphere, all the while still tying in New Orleans decor.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast in the downstairs dining room.
It won’t be your average breakfast though.
Each morning the owners will go out and grab items from local businesses around the area.
Every morning is different, and you won’t know what’s on the menu till you go downstairs.
Next time you have guests coming in from out of town, recommend La Belle Esplanade.
It'll make their stay absolutely perfect.
You can find La Belle Esplanade at 2216 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119.
