There’s nothing better than escaping to the country for a few days, and I’ve found what might just be the coolest bed and breakfast in Louisiana. Splendor Farms is a beautiful farm over in Bush, Louisiana where you can get a taste of country living at its best. From horseback riding to swimming laps in a saltwater pool, this place is just incredible.

Welcome to Splendor Farms, a 75-acre farm about an hour away from New Orleans.

Where things move at a slower pace, and animals run the show.

Splendor Farms is great for a day trip, and we’ll talk about all of the fun things to do here in a moment, but you can also spend a few nights here, too.

The bed and breakfast-style accommodations offer a few different ways to stay: two guest bedrooms, a guest cottage, and a guest bunkhouse for larger parties.

Not only do they offer horseback riding lessons, but they also offer trail rides and arena rides. Personally, I love being around horses. During high school, I volunteered at a therapeutic riding center in Folsom and quickly fell in love with these beauties. There’s just something special about a horse’s bond with its human! Never ridden on a horse before? No problem. This is a family-friendly activity that’s great for all skill levels.

They’ll teach you everything you need to know and pair you up with a horse that meets your skill level. You and your gentle giant will head through the woods, passing by lakes, streams, and more. Kids ages seven and up are allowed to ride on the trails and younger kids can ride in the arena.

Splendid Farms has a ton of critters you’ll want to cuddle. It’s the perfect place for an animal lover!

Cats, dogs, goats, rabbits, chickens, burros... you name it!

After a day of riding, change into your swimsuit and enjoy a few laps around the saltwater pool.

There’s also a hot tub, which is good to remember if you’re visiting during the winter!

The 75-acre farm is full of outdoor adventure that your whole crew can enjoy. Who knows, you might even make new friends!

Enjoy an evening around the fire pit, challenge your family to a game of badminton or volleyball, or just go for a peaceful walk around the private pond. You’re also not far from the Bogue Chitto River, a great spot to go tubing in Louisiana.
