2024 Annual Permits Are Coming Soon: Plan Your Outdoor Adventures In Kansas ASAP

We're lucky to have so many great spots to camp in Kansas, and one of my favorite places to pitch a tent (or stay in a cabin: let's be real, the older you get, the more appealing glamping is!) is our amazing state parks. We have 28 state parks in Kansas, and many of them have campsite options available. Whether you have your own RV, are bringing a tent, or want to rent a cabin, these scenic spots offer up wonderful places to spend the night. If you're an avid fan of camping in our Sunflower State parks, you might be interested in knowing that campsite reservations for 2024 open up in December 2023. It's time to start planning!

There are a variety of different accommodations offered for camping at most of the Kansas state parks.

Many parks that offer camping have RV sites available. If you don't own your own RV, did you know that you can rent one from RVShare? What a cool option for enjoying a glamping adventure!

Of course, good old-fashioned tent camping is also a great option.

Annual vehicle permits and annual camping permits went on sale December 1, 2023 for the 2024 season.

An annual camping permit offers a wonderful choice for those who intend to camp regularly. These permits allow holders to enjoy a $10/night discount throughout the calendar year.

You can purchase the camping permits throughout the year, but the price is substantially cheaper if purchased prior to April 1.

Campsite reservations for 2024's prime season (April 1 through October 31) opens for select parks on December 8, 2023. The remainder of the Kansas state parks campsite reservations will go on sale December 15, 2023.

If you're planning on enjoying camping in Kansas's state parks next year, make sure to mark your calendar and be ready to claim your spot before they're reserved. Some of the more popular dates tend to sell out quickly.
