Dubuque is one of my favorite cities in Iowa, perfectly combining a rich urban environment filled with fine dining and local attractions with the natural beauty of the Mighty Mississippi. It's a unique place that calls for an equally unique spot to stay the night - and we found exactly that at The Drake House, a historic building that houses several charming vacation rentals. One of them is our pick for the best vacation rental in Dubuque, Iowa - the Fleur De Lis, a rustic four-person loft featuring all the modern amenities you could want plus a few surprises - including one hiding on the balcony of the loft. With one bedroom, two bathrooms, and a sofa bed, it's a perfect spot for small families or couples to retreat from the business of everyday life in Dubuque and that's why we think it's one of the best places to stay in Iowa.
