This Art Deco Condo Is The Best Home Base For Your Adventures On Chicago’s Lakefront

For those not too familiar with Chicago, there is a common misconception that its downtown area is the main part of the city. Quite the contrary — Chicago sprawls about 25 miles from its North Side to its South Side, and about 15 miles wide from Lake Michigan to the West Side. It's a city of neighborhoods that fans out far beyond the skyscrapers and tourist attractions found downtown. When you're ready to explore the true heart of the city — its small neighborhood communities, this vacation home rental in Chicago, Illinois is a prime spot for easy transportation, lake access, and lots of neighborly love.

Rogers Park is located on the Far North Side of the city and is the northernmost neighborhood. It's known for being the most ethnically diverse and artsy community in the city, and showcases incredible international foods, dozens of murals, small shops, Loyola University, and fun festivals that highlight the area's small businesses.

I previously lived in Edgewater, the neighborhood just south of here, and spent many wonderful days and weekends experiencing Rogers Park — I always recommend it.

It's also home to a handful of fantastic pocket beaches that offer sweeping views of the city. I always loved to sit on a bench and watch the airplanes roll into O'Hare during the evening — but with piers, playgrounds, grassy areas, and artistic displays, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the waterfront.

Rogers Park also butts up to beautiful Evanston, home of Northwestern University. Evanston is home to some of the most stunning historical homes and mansions in the region, and also has its own collection of local dining, shopping, beaches, and trails that give you the best of both city and nature.

The best part? Rogers Park has multiple stops on the city's main train line, the "L" — which stands for "elevated train." The Red Line route will take you all the way to the South Side and offers connections to all the other routes. Hop on it for a day adventure at Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park, Downtown, Soldier Field, the museum campus, and much more.

Before and after your adventures, this upscale vintage condo in a 1928 Art Deco building is the perfect place to make a home base. Located on a quiet, tree-lined street, you're within walking distance of the lake, shops, and restaurants. Outside, a private garden makes for a secret floral-filled gathering place.

The home sleeps up to six and is pet-friendly for up to two dogs.

Inside, you'll find an open-concept layout with a stunning fireplace, cozy seating, and 9-foot ceilings that make the space feel bright and airy.

Eat and reminisce about the day around the dining room table, or sit and chat while someone prepares a meal in the gourmet kitchen.

Featuring custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops, the kitchen has everything you need to cook.

The condo features two bedrooms — one with a queen and one with a double — as well as a double sofa bed in the living room. Bedrooms are fitted with Victorian antique and French four-post headboards, as well as dressers and a walk-in closet. Sleep luxuriously between the 400+ thread count sheets.

Large bathrooms allow you to relax after a long day of walking and exploring with a walk-in shower and a whirlpool-shower combo — plus heated floors. Other amenities in the home include Wi-Fi, a programmable thermostat, a coffee maker, a blender, a grill, a Smart TV with cable, a washer and dryer, and much more.

For wherever you want to go in the Windy City, this vacation home rental in Chicago, Illinois is a great place to call your home away from home. While you're here, take the Red Line downtown for a top-rated architecture cruise on the Chicago River, or even a walking tour showcasing iconic Chicago foods.
