This Airbnb in Dawsonville, Georgia, is the perfect home base for exploring Amicalola Falls State Park

When I’m traveling with the intention of visiting national and state parks, I like my accommodations to reflect that. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a nice hotel, but if I’m on a nature-driven getaway, I want a nature-centric place to rest my head. This modern, cozy Airbnb in Georgia is the perfect home base for exploring Amicalola Falls State Park. It checks off all my boxes for keeping things nature-centric without being too far out in the middle of nowhere.

But first, let's take a look at Amicalola Falls State Park:

Amicalola Falls State Park is one of the most popular state parks in Georgia. Its proximity to the Appalachian Trail (only eight miles!) makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers from all walks of life. This iconic stone archway marks the unofficial start of the Appalachian Trail.

Named after the Cherokee word for “tumbling waters, Amicalola Falls is the crown jewel of the 829-acre state park. The 729-foot waterfall is the highest waterfall in Georgia! Despite its towering appearance, you can reach the viewpoint fairly easily. There are plenty of stairs, but it’s a well-maintained spot that sees a ton of foot traffic.

Adrenaline junkies will thoroughly enjoy a visit to Amicalola Falls State Park. The zip line canopy tours are a terrific way to see the park from a bird's-eye view, soaring through the trees at exceptional speeds. If you prefer to get your thrills on the ground, check out the archery and hatchet-throwing areas of the park, where you can learn the basics of how to shoot an arrow and throw a hatchet.

After a long day of exploring the park, head over to this scenic Airbnb in Dawsonville that’s only 20 minutes from Amicalola Falls State Park. I absolutely adore the Scandinavian design of this place!

Nestled on 60 secluded acres, this one-bedroom, one-bath hideaway keeps the nature theme going with marvelous views, spectacular sunsets, and everything you need for a relaxing getaway.
