The spot we're featuring today is one of a kind: it's the perfect blend of rustic charm and luxury, and it has a truly fascinating story behind it. It's not every day that you can say you slept in a barn, but that's just what you'll find at this Airbnb in Salisbury, CT. It's a beautiful place in gorgeous surroundings with easy access to plenty of area attractions. Check it out:

Driving up the road to this beautiful Litchfield Hills vacation rental on two private acres can be quite deceiving. It looks like any of the other old barns that pepper the Nutmeg State landscape in our rural areas. But wait until you see what's inside!

Originally built as a hay barn in the 1890s, this Airbnb has since been converted into a chic modern home. However, some of its original floor plan and some original rustic elements remain in tact as part of this home's reimagining. There are numerous repurposed elements throughout and the design has energy efficiency in mind. And there are some surprises...

The interior, you'll see, is not quite what you imagined. The open and airy space has been converted into a stylish modern loft featuring two floors, and, with plentiful windows, there is so much natural lighting you'll feel that the outdoors has been brought inside. You'll also fall in love the beautiful marsh views that surround the home.

The home's desirable modern amenities include radiant floors, musical instruments, a PA systen, a Wi-Fi thermostat, and a 42-inch television with cable and streaming. This place is perfect for creative types who may work in the arts or at least have an appreciation for them.

The loft has three beds that can sleep up to five guests, including a downstairs bedfor those who don't wish to climb stairs. The top floor has one queen and one full bed while the main level has one queen bed.

The full kitchen has a touch of rustic decor that speaks to the previous life of this historic building. And yet, the stainless steel appliances bring the design into the modern era. My favorite part is the floating shelves that just add a bit of interest to the space.

The outdoor area is just as appealing as the rest of the home. There's a sizable stone patio with a BBQ and fire pit, and the two-acre property provides plenty of privacy. Because the property is so private, you should feel a sense of peace during your stay, and I am sure you'll want to spend ann afternoon relaxing on the patio.

Note that cell service can be spotty here, but honestly, I think that's more of a win than a negative! It's good to disconnect and get away from everything for a while. This is the perfect spot for those looking to unplug and relax. For more information about this unique barn Airbnb in Salisbury, CT, check out the property's listing.
