This Colorado Geodome Offers Unforgettable Night Sky Views

Stay in a stargazing dome in Colorado for a dark sky adventure. It's far removed from light pollution so you can really enjoy the views.

Sometimes, I just have an itch for stargazing that just doesn't go away. If you’re feeling the same way, I found the perfect spot for a totally stellar escape. This geodesic dome in Crestone is one of the best places to go stargazing in Colorado because it offers unparalleled views of the night sky and a cabin on the property for additional guests.

Stay in this stargazing dome in Colorado for an unforgettable adventure. Ideal for families, couples, and solo travelers alike, the 27-foot geodome is about 3.5 hours outside of Denver and an hour from Great Sand Dunes National Park (which is also an A+ stargazing destination, so definitely plan on visiting while you're in the area).

The dome alone sleeps four guests in one queen and two twin beds, and the cabin has two more bedrooms with queen beds. You’ll enjoy a wide range of modern amenities in both accommodations, from A/C and heat, a mini fridge, and power outlets in the dome to a full kitchen in the cabin. The bathrooms (one full and one half) are located in the cabin.

With several large windows looking out on the stunning mountain landscape, the dome is a stargazer’s paradise. Multiple decks provide sweeping views of the surroundings, so whether you're trying to spot your favorite constellations or sipping your morning coffee while reveling in the stillness, you're in for a treat. You can also enjoy a relaxing soak under the stars in the seven-person hot tub.

The fire pit outside the cabin was made for gathering around and swapping stories over homemade s'mores. Whether you bring along equipment like binoculars or telescopes to enhance the view or see what you can see with the naked eye (which, luckily, is quite a bit), nights spent at this secluded oasis are nothing short of unforgettable.

Then, when you’re ready to head into the dome for the night, you can watch the stars shimmer in the black of night as you drift off. Or, if you’re sleeping in the cabin, hang out in the dome until you can’t keep your eyes open anymore to soak up every last second of bliss.
