While summer tends to get all the glory, I prefer winter travel. There is nothing more enjoyable than a cozy winter getaway in Colorado, and this modern A-frame checks all of the boxes. If you’re in the same mindset as I am, then you’re going to fall in love with this cabin in Breckenridge.

With five peaks spanning nearly 3,000 skiable acres, it’s no wonder Breckenridge is considered one of the best ski towns, according to USA Today's 2025 rankings. Even if you’re not a skier, you can embrace the long nights with a winter getaway at this epic Airbnb, which is only a five-minute drive from downtown. Plus, there’s a free shuttle for easy transportation, with a stop just five minutes from the cabin.

While most A-frame cabins are bare-bones, this one has been fully renovated in 2024 to give you all of life’s luxuries and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This includes a full washer and dryer, a smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, a gas fireplace, and a fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances. Aside from a quick trip to the grocery store, you truly never need to leave—which is my favorite type of winter getaway.

The cabin can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, featuring two bedrooms, three beds, and one bathroom. For a feature that truly soothes the soul, guests can enjoy a long soak in this six-person hot tub while taking in magnificent winter views in every direction.

The cabin is nestled on a wooded acre of land, and the wildlife viewing here is top-notch. Moose and bald eagle sightings are common, so keep your eyes peeled—you might have a visitor or two!

The only thing I love more than a hot tub is a sauna, and this cabin in Breckenridge has both. Kick back and spend some time in the traditional, custom-built wood-burning sauna. I recommend spending about 20 minutes inside, and then stepping outside into that frigid Colorado winter weather before heading back in.

Hikers can enjoy nearby trails, and a playground is located close by as well. The whole family will love this winter retreat.

While the cabin provides a full kitchen and a barbecue grill, I completely understand if you prefer not to cook on holiday. Fortunately, there are plenty of restaurants in Breckenridge to enjoy. Ollie’s is a casual eatery with a sports bar vibe, while Kenosha Steakhouse offers a more upscale option with some of the best sunset views in Colorado.
