Founder/CEO of the Discovery Channel John Hendricks fell in love with Gateway, Colorado in 1995. He decided to buy property in this area so he could design and build a sustainable resort so others could enjoy the area, too.

Gateway Canyons Resort and Spa is in Unaweep Canyon, a unique red rock canyon that is absolutely breathtaking.

The resort that Mr. Hendricks created is absolutely spectacular. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable.

You can reserve regular hotel rooms and suites in the Kiva or Kayenta Lodges, or rent a private, one-bedroom casita on the property.

There are several places to dine on site. Entrada is an upscale restaurant that focuses on local flavors. The Paradox Grille is a more casual restaurant if you're not feeling like a fancy meal. There's also a coffee shop and a cantina to enjoy.

There's a ranch on site, too. It's called Palisade Ranch and it offers cowboy lessons, cattle drives, riding lessons, and more.
