This Arkansas Planetarium Treehouse Offers Unforgettable Night Sky Views
Under a starry night sky, go stargazing outside, through a clear dome ceiling, or through a telescope when you stay at the Planetarium Treehouse in Arkansas.
There are so many incredibly unique vacation rentals in Arkansas that it's sometimes a challenge to narrow down where you want to stay. That's where we come in. One of my favorite things to do is scour a site like Airbnb to find some of the most unique places for a getaway, and here's an incredible one I've seen!
I think the Planetarium Treehouse in Arkansas is among the most distinctive I've found. Under a starry night sky, you can go stargazing outside, through a clear dome ceiling, or through a telescope provided by the hosts. Are you ready for one of the best overnight stays of your life?
The Planetarium Treehouse in Springdale, Arkansas, is unlike any treehouse you've ever seen or stayed at. Due to its incredible features and amenities, it was one of 100 winners of the Airbnb OMG! Fund contest.
So, what is so "OMG!" about the Planetarium Treehouse? Well, for one, its architecture is truly remarkable. There's a geodesic dome housing a loft bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a living room area with floors connected via a spiral staircase. In the loft by the bed, a large hexagonal window allows natural light and views for stargazing. Additionally, a projector turns the bedroom into a private planetarium, which is perfect for those nights when clouds are hiding the stars.
A hallway connects the geodesic dome living space to the home's Observatory Tower through a hallway. When you walk through the hall, there are LED lights that will make you feel like you're in space. Super cool, right?
At the lower level of the Observatory Tower is a living room area complete with a round blue couch and a TV. There's also a storage closet with a foldable mattress and extra linens so you can turn this living room into an extra bedroom.
Head to the tower's upper level, and you'll find a clear polycarbonate dome with sky views for your nighttime stargazing adventures. If you'd like, use one of the high-powered telescopes for a closer view of the stars and planets. For an added effect, color-changing LED lights outline the dome, so turn those on if you'd like.
There's no doubt in my mind why the Planetarium Treehouse is a Guest Favorite on Airbnb. Not only is this a stargazer's dream home, but a nature lover's as well. In addition to the planetarium, there's a wraparound deck and views of Beaver Lake. It's also close to the towns of Rogers, Bentonville, and Fayetteville, in case you'd like to get out and explore.
While you won't want to leave the property of the Planetarium Treehouse, you may want to grab a bite to eat at the Wagon Wheel Country Cafe, also located in Springdale. It offers some of the best comfort food in the area. But if you're looking for more recommendations, head over to our itinerary planner for some nearby suggestions!
