This Arizona Geo Dome Offers Unforgettable Night Sky Views

In my opinion, few things are more humbling than looking up at the vast night sky. Unfortunately, light pollution makes stargazing difficult in our everyday lives, which is why I'm a big fan of taking dark sky getaways every now and then.

This stargazing dome in Arizona is located in Cornville, just 25 minutes from Sedona, and it's the perfect place for stargazing enthusiasts because it's secluded enough to provide stunning views of the Milky Way while still being relatively close to civilization.

The dome sleeps two guests and is furnished with a queen bed, lots of cozy blankets and pillows, crystal lights, and singing bowls. It also has a patio with lounge chairs to do yoga or watch the sunrise.

As you can see, the dome is fully translucent, so when darkness falls, you can marvel at the night sky in all its glory. Sedona is a certified International Dark Sky Place, so you already know the views are incredible.

Guests also have access to the "Garden Shed," a small cottage with a full-sized bed, a kitchenette, a half-bath, and two additional mattresses in the loft. There’s a full bathroom in the smaller building to the left of the shed.

You’re welcome to spend the night in the dome, but you also have free rein of the Garden Shed if you prefer more traditional sleeping arrangements. That way, you can still enjoy the experience of stargazing in the dome while ensuring you get a good night’s rest.

If you want to time your visit to coincide with International Dark Sky Week, which takes place from April 13 to April 20, 2026, consider visiting nearby Flagstaff while you’re here. It is the world’s first and largest International Dark Sky City. You may also want to check out the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, which is also where Pluto was discovered. The observatory has six advanced telescopes perfect for viewing the night sky.
