The Most Unique Campground In Arizona That’s Pure Magic

Three Dunes Campground in Arizona offers a unique waterfront camping experience surrounded by sand dunes and accessible only by boat.

When it comes to good old-fashioned family fun, you really can’t beat going camping by the water in Arizona. There’s no better way to unplug and enjoy nature with the people you care about most, and luckily, there’s no shortage of places to enjoy waterfront camping in Arizona. One of the most unique, though, is without a doubt Three Dunes Campground, which – as its name suggests – is surrounded by towering sand dunes that turn the area into your own private oasis, making it one of the best places to do some on-the-water camping in Arizona.

Thanks to the pristine waters of Lake Havasu moderating the temperature, Cattail Cove State Park is a popular destination for camping year-round.

There are 32 campsites at the Dunes Campground in total, all of which can only be accessed via boat.

Of all the campgrounds Three Dunes Campground is arguably the most elusive and most unique campground im Arizona.

Largely hidden from public view, this waterfront oasis is the perfect place to get away from it all.

Lofty sand dunes rise up all around, making campers feel as if they're the last remaining people on earth.

Towering mountains far in the distance only add to the air of seclusion, offering a much-needed escape from the worries of everyday life.

Campers of all ages are welcome here, as it's one of the most family-friendly spots on Lake Havasu.

On holiday weekends, you'll often see live DJs spinning tunes for everyone to enjoy.

As the campground's namesake suggests, there's plenty of sand to go around.

Lay out without a care in the world and soak up some rays as you watch boats glide past on the pristine lake waters.

If you feel like stretching your land legs, Three Dunes Trail is a 6.5-mile hike that skirts the campground.

It takes about 3.5 hours to complete the entire trail, but feel free to just do bits and pieces to get some exercise without overworking yourself.

The day-use fee at Three Dunes Campground is $10, plus an additional $10 per site to stay overnight.

The overnight fee is good for up to six people, and each person after that costs an extra $2.
