This Old Fashioned General Store In Arizona Is Also An RV Park, And It’s The Perfect Pit Stop

The Historic Route 66 General Store in Arizona is a must-visit RV campground and general store that offers a nostalgic experience for travelers.

If you've always wanted to embark on a Route 66 road trip, the Historic Route 66 General Store in Arizona definitely makes it easier. Both a general store and an RV campground, this quirky pit stop has everything weary travelers need to re-up for the next leg of their journey. It's one of the best RV campgrounds in Arizona because it's not just a campground - it's an all-in-one destination for when you're hitting the road. Whether you're driving a rented RV or taking your beloved motor home on the road, this is one old-school campground you won't want to miss.

An obligatory stop on any Route 66 road trip, Seligman is the birthplace of the historic highway.

This tiny blip on the map has a population of under 800, but it's far from being a hidden gem. The town is the epitome of old-fashioned Americana and tourists can't seem to get enough.

Next time you find yourself in Seligman, the Historic Route 66 General Store is a must-add to your itinerary.

Formerly known as the Northern Arizona Campground, the store has long been an oasis for weary travelers looking to stock up on essentials.

The first thing you'll notice is all of the classic cars parked out front.

Many people who drive down 66 have allowed the spirit of the Mother Road to infiltrate every aspect of their life, right down to the vehicle they choose to drive.

Upon entrance, you'll be overcome by a wave of nostalgia that hits almost immediately.

From vintage Coke signs and bottles to old photographs, this place is truly a portal to the past.

All sorts of Route 66 memorabilia are available for purchase including T-shirts, mugs, caps, newspaper clippings, and highway signs.

You should at least consider picking up a few items to remember your trip by, however touristy they may be.

The general store also offers hardware to fix any minor car troubles you might have incurred on the way here.

Historically, Route 66 was full of hardware stores — the highway ran all the way from Chicago to Los Angeles and the nearly 2,500-mile journey took a toll on many vehicles. Even if you don't need any parts, looking at everything is a real blast from the past.

One of the neatest things about the store is that it doubles as an RV campground, so it's the perfect overnight pit stop before the next leg of your trip begins.

The RV park is small, with only about 15 sites (hello, peace and quiet!) Some of the sites have just electricity and water, while others are full hook-ups. There are also restrooms with showers and dumpsters available on-site.

Seligman's historic general store and campground have long been a popular destination for road-trippers, so take a look at this video tour by RVerTV.
