Here Are 17 Things Everyone In Vermont Absolutely Loves

There are certain things that most (if not all) Vermonters absolutely love.  From the mountains to the fresh air, everything about Vermont is special and here are a few things that, whether you were born here or moved here, everyone in the 802 simply loves.  Be sure to share your favorite things in the comments!

1. Maple Syrup

We absolutely love our syrup and we put it on just about everything.

2. Swimming holes

We love to swim in them and, more importantly, we know where to find the best ones.

3. Good beer

Whether you brew at home or like to sample the latest VT craft batch, beer is something that Vermonters take seriously. Very seriously.

4. Sledding

Whether you call it sledding (me) or sliding (my parents), there is nothing like the cold air on your cheeks as you race down the hill.

5. Bonfires

Regardless of the season or the time of day, Vermonters love our bonfires.

The bigger the better!

6. Cows

They pepper the landscape, provide milk for some of the world's best cheese, and are the inspiration for some pretty cool prints. What's not to love?

7. Pets

Our four legged friends are part of the family and go practically everywhere with us.

8. Snow

We are snow veterans - bring it on!

9. Experiencing the seasons

All the seasons, including mud. Anyone want to go 4 wheeling?

10. Space

From wide open spaces to the stars in the sky, we sure do like our space.

11. Trees

We love the colors, we enjoy their shade, and we have even built houses in them.

12. Fairs and festivals

From world fairs to small town festivals, we love them all!

13. Living vertically

There is an old saying that Vermont would be bigger than Texas if you flattened us out. While this may not be technically true, we do love our drives, hikes, views and mountain sports and we can’t imagine a life so…. Flat.

14. Creemees

On a hot summer day there's nothing better than a maple creemee!

15. Pick your own anything

Berries, apples, sunflowers, etc. - we love to be self sufficient. After all, nothing tastes sweeter than the sun soaked warmth of a berry right off the bush. Look at the size of this blueberry picked at Zuber's Blueberry Farm in Stowe! It's a Frankenberry!

16. Fresh food

In addition to picking our own, we thrive on farm stands and farmers markets to get the freshest food available. This rhubarb looks like it would make a fantastic pie!

17. 802

802 is more than just an area code, it's a badge of honor. Are you 802 proud?

Be sure to share this with others who share your love of all things Vermont!
