15 Reasons Why People In Austin Should Be Proud Of Their City
Austin is celebrated for its live music scene, no-kill animal policy, vibrant festivals, and unique local culture.
Were you born and raised in Austin? Did you move here from somewhere else? No matter how you found your way here, you now have a reason (or several) to be proud of Austin. If you don't know why you're proud of our city, we'll help point you in the right direction!
1. We're the live music capital of the world!
2. We're officially a no-kill city (no animals euthanized). WOO-HOO!
3. We know how to have fun for free! Especially when it's super hot (most of the year).
4. We have an amazing selection of craft beers. You can even head to the farmers markets to try some, like this 512!
5. We're one of the top LGBT-friendly cities in the nation!
6. We have festivals all year long, and they're the best! Like this one: Fun Fun Fun Fest.
7. We find the best ways to enjoy Zilker Park's vast lawn. Movies with a view of the skyline, perhaps?
8. When life gives us lemons...we create the best small businesses. Seriously, we're homegrown to local, but big businesses like Wholefoods, Pluckers, P. Terry's, Kendra Scott, Birds Barbershop, Austin Eastciders, and so many more!
9. Tacos make us the happiest...for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and beyond.
10. We will go outdoors anytime just to enjoy the simple things in life, like a gorgeous Austin sunset and good company.
11. We have the coolest looking (and tasty) food trucks!
12. We're surrounded by greenery. Even in the city!
