Creditdonkey.com did a study about the happiest cities in Texas, and compiled data from both the FBI and the U.S. Census to come up with the results. They focused on cities with a population of 50,000 or higher, and ranked each city based on the following criteria: number of restaurants, crime rate, commute, departure time, income, divorce rate, and housing costs.

With this data in mind, here are the ten happiest cities in Texas, ranked from least to most happy.

10) Frisco

With an average commute time of 27.8 minutes and most residents spending 20.5% of their income on housing, Frisco made it to the number 10 spot on our list.

9) League City

Your chances of being the victim of a violent crime here are 1 in 1,090.2, and the median household income is $88,289.

8) Plano

Only 1.9% of residents leave for work before 5AM, and the restaurants per capita are 1 per 480 inhabitants.

7) Richardson

The average commute time is 23.6 minutes, and percent of income spent on housing is 21.1%.

6) Allen

The odds of being a victim of a violent crime here are 1 in 1614.2, and the median household income is $101,966.

5) Flower Mound

This is a very safe community, as your chances of being the victim of a violent crime are 1 in 3,239.2. Only 1.3% of residents leave for work before 5AM, and the average household income is $118,725.

4) Odessa

The average commute time is 17.8 minutes, and most people spend 17.7% of their income on housing.

3) Wichita Falls

The average commute time is only 14.7 minutes, and there is one restaurant per every 465 residents.

2) Sugar Land

The restaurants per capita are 1 per 356 inhabitants, which is lower than other cities on our list due to the higher population. The percent of income spent on housing is 18.9%, and average income is $107,149.

1) Midland

Coming in at the number one spot on our list is Midland, with an average commute time of 17.4 minutes, a median household income of $59,478, and 19% of income spent on housing.
