Some Of The Best Drivers In The Nation Are Found In Brownsville, Texas According To A New Study

Texas boasts 22 of America's safest driving cities, with Brownsville ranked #1.

As if we Texans didn’t have reason enough to feel proud, yet another excuse has come about. According to Allstate, a whopping 22 of America's safest driving cities are located right here in the Lone Star State! Did your hometown make the cut? You’ll just have to keep reading in order to find out.

A report by Allstate released earlier this year lists the nation's top 200 safe driver cities. We're proud to say that 22 towns right here in Texas made the cut!

Brownsville is #1 on the list. This means its drivers can proudly call themselves not only the best in Texas but all of America as well.

Allstate's report used the average time between insurance claims to make its judgments. In Brownsville, the average time between claims is just under 15 years, about 4.5 years longer than the national average.

Laredo sits ever so slightly behind Brownsville, claiming the #5 spot.

18th on the list is Corpus Christi, where drivers file a claim filed every 11.5 years.

Next up for Texas' safest driving cities, Amarillo comes in at #20. Here, 11.5 years also separate insurance claims, which approaches the national average of 10.5.

El Paso, Lubbock, Waco, Pasadena, and McKinney are some of the other cities on the list. They placed at #48, 53, 79, 86, and 127, respectively.

You might be wondering why we Texans are so skilled behind the wheel. Maybe it's because we've learned to drive on so many different times of terrain, from winding mountain roads to sandy beachside highways. Whatever the reason, let's just be proud of this little victory!
