You May Be Surprised That South Carolina Is The Fastest Growing State In The Nation

U.S. Census Bureau data released in December 2023 showed that South Carolina was the fastest-growing state in America for the year by percentage population growth at a rate of 1.7%. Those of us who already live here know what a great state it is that we enjoy calling home!

Governor Henry McMaster noted opportunity in our state, a strong economy, beautiful landscapes ...

... and rich culture as reasons for such tremendous growth, saying, "There is no better place in the world to call home."

He also says it's an "ideal place to live, work, and raise a family." And we could not agree more!

Affordable cost of living is another draw for our beautiful state, with Myrtle Beach recognized as one of the most affordable beach towns in America. And it is one of the top cities in the state people are moving to.

Another top city attracting people moving into South Carolina is Greenville, located in what's known as the upstate area.

Although Florence is not ranking as a top growing city in the state, it did receive nationwide recognition during 2023 as a Great American Main Street Award Winner, and it makes a wonderful area to live in.
