If you want some good old time fun, head to these retro spots around town that will provide you with just that. Teeming with nostalgia, these are great places to take both the kids and adults to have a great time.
1. Roller Skating at Oaks Park
Lace up your skates and spend some time on the exquisite wood floor of Oaks Park. Noted as the oldest skating rink in the country, skating at Oaks Park is a blast from the past and great way to embrace your youth. Oaks Park is located at 7805 SE Oaks Park Way.
2. Bowling at Grand Central
Try your hand at this low-key sport that is a bit of competition mixed with a whole lot of fun. Skip the smokey bowling alleys of the 80s and head to Grand Central, where you can enjoy updated pub food, along with a few drinks while you are at it.
3. Drive-In Movie at 99W Drive-In
There is really nothing like seeing a drive-in movie, and thankfully, we still have one such theater around. Head down the 99W to Newberg to catch a double show at this classic theater. 99W Drive-In is located at 3110 Portland Rd in Newberg.
4. Arcade at Wunderland
Play all the games you can manage at our classic nickel arcade empire Wunderland. With 5 locations around town, chances are one is nearby where you are right now. Or visit Ground Kontrol, a retro gaming arcade that also serves beer. Ground Kontrol is located at 511 NW Couch Street.
5. Mini Golf at Glowing Greens
Mini golf was all the rage in the 80s, and thanks to Glowing Greens, you can combine the trend with another 80s favorite: black lights. Putt a round of golf on this trippy glowing golf course, or head over to Oaks Park to putt on a more traditional outdoor one. Glowing Greens is located at 509 SW Taylor Street.
