Okay, PA! Let’s take a few moments today to reflect on why we love living in PA and, quite frankly, how it spoils us for life. Of course, no state is perfect, and PA certainly has its flaws. But, for most of us, it’s our beloved home state, and we’re proud to be from such a beautiful, bold state brimming with friendly people. Some, in fact, might say that living in Pennsylvania spoils us. Would you agree? Here are 10 reasons living in Pennsylvania spoils you for life.

1. Mmm…mmm…the food…

Yep, PA’s known for its delicious food. If we choose to dine out, we have a huge selection of options – from fine dining and fast food to drive-in restaurants and food trucks. But, it goes beyond that. Homemade food is simply a part of life in PA. And, we know how to do it right, enjoying such popular foods as shoofly pie, scrapple, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, and whoopie pies.

2. The snacks…and…

Who wouldn’t want to live in the Snack Food Capital of the World? We can indulge in our favorite snacks, all made in PA. Even better? Many snack food companies – Herr’s, Hershey’s, and Utz – offer tours where we can get a glimpse into how our favorite snacks are made.

3. The traditions.

Life in Pennsylvania’s steeped in tradition. We end the New Year by dropping a treasured item – a Hershey’s kiss, a wrench, a pickle, or even the traditional ball. And, we start the New Year with a scrumptious meal of pork and sauerkraut.

4. We’ve got a little bit of everything in PA…

Boredom? In PA? Not going to happen unless, of course, you want to be bored. There’s simply too much to do in PA to get bored. From the world class museums to sprawling state parks, Pennsylvania offers something for everyone, no matter your age or interests.

5. Vibrant, big cities and…

Crave the excitement of the big city? Well, Pittsburgh, Philly, and Harrisburg have got you covered – and you won’t even have to leave the state.

6. Quaint small towns.

Or, do you prefer the quintessential charm and old-fashioned friendliness of small towns? Then, you’ve got plenty of enchanting towns to spend your time in PA. Embark on a leisurely stroll around Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs. Visit rescued wolves in Lititz. And, snap selfies in front of a UFO in Mars.

7. Sprawling state parks…

Explore one of the 121 state parks in the state. Hit the trails on foot or by bike. Rent a boat to paddle around the lake. Or, spend time watching some of the wildlife native to PA.

How can we not be spoiled by living in PA when we have access to so much, including some of the most amazing natural wonders? Admire the sheer beauty of Pine Creek Gorge, the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. Or, embark on Falls Trail – which boasts 21 waterfalls – in Ricketts Glen State Park. And, that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

9. All four seasons.

Yep, we’re lucky enough to experience all four seasons. Who wouldn’t want that? In fact, sometimes we experience all four seasons in one day.

10. PA’s just a friendly, welcoming place.

No matter where you travel in PA, you’re going to find friendly faces and welcoming smiles. Strangers can – and often do – become friends through conversations at bus stops and sitting on benches in parks.
