The One Thing to Do in New Hampshire Before the End of the Year
Searching for a relaxing end-of-year vacation? A magical stay at this quaint NH inn is the perfect seasonal getaway.
As the seasons change and the end of the year approaches, I find myself reflecting on all of the amazing places that I have had the pleasure of visiting over the past 12 months. At the start of the year, I shared with you my extensive travel bucket list, which included many lofty plans for the upcoming year. While I did make a dent in this list, I have to admit that I did not check off as many items as I would have liked to. Well, there are still a handful of weeks left before the ball drops, and I may just have time to squeeze in one more trip. And lucky for me, this season is the perfect time to visit one of my personal bucket list attractions, the Christmas Farm Inn & Spa in Jackson, New Hampshire.

Getting festive at this local inn was #24 on my list of 25 Things I Still Have to Do in New Hampshire in 2025, and since then, I have learned a lot about this special place. As it turns out, the inn is not really a Christmas tree farm as I had originally imagined it to be, but is rather named so because the property was given as a Christmas gift. Guests who vacation here enjoy a variety of deluxe accommodations, from traditional rooms in the historic 1786 Main Inn to carriage house jacuzzi suites and cozy cottages.

There is also an on-site restaurant called 3North that will be serving up delicious three-course Christmas Eve and Christmas dinners, and a bar adorably named the Mistletoe Pub. For those who wish to relax, an afternoon at the heated pool and luxurious spa will definitely do the trick. Now you understand why this special place is on my bucket list.
No matter when you decide to visit, you are sure to have an amazing experience at this quintessential New Hampshire property. While the inn is not specifically Christmas-themed year-round, it does have many magical holiday tributes that are sure to put you in the holiday spirit. How does a stay in the 11 Pipers Piping Suite in April sound?
But if you do plan your getaway during “the season,” you are in for a treat, because as you can imagine, the inn is extra-festive this time of year. The cozy property gets decked out top to bottom with festive decor and tons of joyous Christmas charm. And some extra special events are also in the works.

The holidays bring the much-loved Blitzen’s Pop-Up Bar, Restaurant & Experience to the inn. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails, specialty dinners, seasonal treats, and cozy gingerbread smores. Featured events include an ugly-sweater night and a gingerbread house decorating activity. You can even indulge yourself with a specialty holiday treatment at the spa.
And the festivities continue beyond the inn with local tree lightings, ice skating, and cookie strolls. A winter’s visit to see the man himself at Santa’s Village in nearby Jefferson is a must-do this time of year. And for those traveling with little ones, the Polar Express train to the North Pole in North Conway is such a wonderful treat.
