These 10 Up And Coming Cities In Nevada Are Ready To Explode
Have you ever wondered whether or not you live in one of Nevada's fastest-growing cities? Recently, the website HomeSnacks published a list that included the fastest-growing cities in Nevada. They got their results by analyzing U.S. Census data from 2010-2014 to calculate the growth rate for all 12 Nevada cities with a population of more than 5,000. Nevada is full of beautiful cities, and here are the ones that are growing the fastest:
1. Mesquite
Mesquite, located in Clark County, has the honor of being number one on the list. Mesquite is a well known retirement community and home to Wolf Creek Golf Club, one of the best golf courses in the world. Its population was 16,072 in 2014, and it had a growth rate of 10.02% between the years 2010-2014.
2. North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas is also located in Clark County. It's well known for its many outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking and biking. In 2014, North Las Vegas' population was 223,336. Between the years 2010-2014, its growth rate was 9.5%.
3. Elko
Elko is the county seat of Elko County and its motto is "The Heart of Northeast Nevada." In 2014, Elko had a population of 19,308. From 2010-2014, its growth rate was 8.57%.
4. Winnemucca
Winnemucca is the county seat and only incorporated city in Humboldt County. Two of the city's main attractions include the Buckaroo Hall of Fame and Heritage Museum. Winnemucca's population was 7,736 in 2014. Its growth rate between the years 2010-2014 was 8.32%.
5. Henderson
Henderson, located in Clark County, is the second largest city in Nevada. It's also ranked as one of the safest cities in the United States. In 2014, Henderson's population was 266,245. Between the years 2010-2014, its growth rate was 6.82%.
6. Sparks
Sparks is located in Washoe County, just outside of Reno. Its population was 92,236 in 2014, and it had a growth rate of 5.65% between the years 2010-2014.
7. Reno
Reno is the county seat of Washoe County. It's best known as "The Biggest Little City in the World." In 2014, Reno's population was 231,103. Between the years 2010-2014, its growth rate was 4.57%.
8. Fernley
Fernley, located in Lyon County, is well known for its strong economy and diverse marketplace. Its population was 19,184 in 2014, and it had a growth rate of 4.39% between the years 2010-2014.
9. Las Vegas
Las Vegas, the county seat of Clark County, is known as "The Entertainment Capital of the World." Its main attraction is the Las Vegas Strip. In 2014, Las Vegas' population was 597,353. Between the years 2010-2014, it had a growth rate of 3.03%.
10. Fallon
Coming in at number 10 on the list is Fallon. Fallon is the county seat of Churchill County and home to Naval Air Station Fallon. Its population was 8,451 in 2014, and it had a growth rate of -1.27% between the years 2010-2014.
