Historic photos of Nevada reveal a quieter, less glittery side of the state, showcasing its rich history and transformation over the years.

Nevada is a state rich in history. In fact, even before its inception on October 31, 1864, the Silver State boasted a unique and illustrious history. Known for gold and silver mining, the construction of the Hoover Dam, and its Sin City gambling, Nevada has a unique personality that has been fairly well documented on film. These historic pictures of Nevada show a quieter, less glittery side of our state. And, as some of the oldest photos of Nevada ever taken, they are both incredible and eye-opening.

In many ways, Virginia City hasn't changed much - at least on the outside! This delightfully Western little town is full of historic places to visit and stay.
