1. Glendive

At the top of Safewise's list of safest cities in Montana is the lovely little locale of Glendive. This Montana town of just under 5,000 has crime rates that are virtually nonexistent, and it has actually seen a decrease in both violent crime *and* property crime rates in recent years. It's also incredibly scenic and beautiful!

2. Dillon

Coming in at the number two spot on Safewise's list is the tiny town of Dillon. With a population of 4,200, rates of both property and violent crimes in this town are virtually nonexistent.

3. Columbia Falls

With a violent crime rate of just 1.9 incidents per 1,000 residents, Columbia Falls is one of the statistically safest cities on this list. Plus, it’s located in the scenic Flathead County, so you’ll never tire of beautiful mountain views!

4. Glasgow

Property crime and violent crime rates are incredibly low in the small northeastern Montana town of Glasgow. The first "tourists" to this region were members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition!

5. Sidney
