Wiederkehr Wine Cellars is located within the southern slopes of St. Mary's Mountain in the Ozarks.
The Wiederkehr family began making wine here in 1880 making this the oldest winery in the mid-America region.
Wiederkehr Wine Cellars is located in Wiederkehr Village and a visit here will make you feel like you are in Europe.
On the property is a visitor center, gift shop, and restaurant.
Take a tour of the winery to learn about the Wiederkehr family, the winery, and how their wine is made.
You will also see the vineyards which overlook the picturesque Arkansas River Valley.
Chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, riesling, beau noir, Sangiovese, and cabernet sauvignon are just a few wines produced here.
Bottles of wine are sold on the property and you will probably want to buy some to take home!
During the tour, you will have the opportunity to try a few of the wines made here.
However, guests do not have to take a tour in order to do a wine tasting.
No trip to this winery is complete without a meal at the Weinkeller Restaurant which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
