It can be really fun to discover a new perspective. For example, you may love a certain town or city and may even know it well, but what if you could see it in a whole new way? Long Beach, California, is a fun and interesting beach city that is worth exploring, but many people have no idea that there is a scenic Long Beach water taxi that offers a whole new perspective on the city, and it's incredibly affordable!

Long Beach is a lovely beach city with much to explore. Long Beach Transit not only provides city street transportation but lets you take to the sea and explore the area on the AquaLink water taxi for only $5 one way typically from Memorial Day until late October each year.

At one end, the Long Beach $5 water taxi can be boarded at Dock 4 on the Pine Avenue Pier, which is located next to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. Look for the bright orange catamaran-style boat with “Long Beach Transit” on the side.

If you happen to disembark at the Aquarium Dock, there is so much to see and do in the area. Shoreline Village is a wonderfully charming boardwalk with restaurants, shops, and harbor views.

The Shoreline Aquatic Park, with its lighthouse and open green space on the water, is a great place for a relaxing picnic. You can visit the fantastic Aquarium of the Pacific, or head downtown for even more restaurants and things to do.

Enjoy the ride on the Long Beach $5 boat ride by hanging out on the rear deck and letting the breeze blow through your hair, or take a seat inside where every comfy seat comes with expansive views through the large windows that line both sides of the boat.

Snacks and beverages are available for purchase onboard the boat. Grab a bag of pretzels, chips, or trail mix and a soft drink, coffee, or tea. Adult beverages are also available, including red and white wine, champagne, beer, liquors, or a selection of Signature Mixed Drinks.

On the 40-minute ride from one end to the other, you will enjoy scenic views of Long Beach icons, including the historic Queen Mary ship. You may also see Carnival or other cruise ships in port.

The pretty blue waters, colorful Shoreline Village, and yacht marina are all part of the eye-catching views you will enjoy while riding the water taxi at Long Beach.

A ride on the water taxi is a wonderful way to see the palm-tree-lined Long Beach skyline, including the beautiful ocean mural-painted Long Beach Arena.

At the other end, the AquaLink can be boarded, or you can disembark, at the Alamitos Bay Landing Berth 3.

At Alamitos Bay Marina Center, enjoy a variety of bars and restaurants, or branch out and explore the tiny islands of Naples
