One Of The Most Haunted Theatres In Southern California, Hollywood Pantages Theatre Has Been Around Since 1930

The theatre is rumored to have three main spirits that haunt the space. The first is Alexander Pantages, a Greek-American vaudeville film producer who founded the theatre.

Pantages was falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, and because of the financial burden of the trials, he had to sell Pantages Theatre in order to pay his team. Many people believe that his spirit is at unrest because of his attachment to his prized possession, which he was forced to part with in life. He seems to appear only on the main floor of the building.
Another ghost rumored to be hanging around Pantages Theatre is the ghost of a young female performer who died a premature death in the mezzanine of the theatre due to illness. She is believed to be stuck within these walls because she never got a chance to really showcase her talent.

But although she wasn't recognized in life as a true talent, she certainly tries to be recognized now by singing in the theatre's auditorium.
The third ghost who is said to roam around Pantages Theatre is Howard Hughes, who acquired the theatre in 1949. Hughes loved the theatre and enjoyed having his office in the space. He can still be seen today as an apparition in his office.

Visitors to his office also feel cold spots within the space. Hughes oftentimes appears on the balcony watching rehearsals like he did when he was alive.
Another unidentified spirit has been encountered in the space and guests and employees speculate he was a supervisor of some kind. This spirit has been seen as an apparition that actually speaks to the workers doing renovations on the building.

All of the spirits seem to be very protective of their creative space. There was an intense spike in spiritual activity after vandals broke into the theatre and damaged the auditorium's balcony.
